Happy birthday Charles M. Schulz! Born on November 26, 1922, Schulz was the creator of “Peanuts,” the beloved syndicated comic strip that ran in newspapers in the U.S. and abroad for almost 50 years, from October 2, 1950 to February 13, 2000. Schulz died the day before his final comic strip ran on Saturday, February 12, 2000.

He is widely regarded as one of the most influential cartoonists of all time. His holiday specials for Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas are annual classics seen by millions of viewers each year.

The characters he created such as Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Woodstock, Linus and Lucy, Sally, Pigpen, Peppermint Patty, Marcie and Schroeder live on in the hearts and minds of children and adults alike who grew up reading the comic strips and watching the specials.

Don’t forget that you can see the Thanksgiving Special on ABC tomorrow night.
