A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving #Classics

The Thanksgiving classic: “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving” will be airing this year the night before Thanksgiving on ABC on Wednesday, November 27. The holiday special first aired in 1973 before becoming a perennial, beloved holiday tradition for generations of families.

Following “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving,” ABC will be airing a bonus Charlie Brown feature, an episode from This Is America, Charlie Brown: “The Mayflower Voyagers,” which recounts the story of the Pilgrims’ first Thanksgiving. This animated short film shows Charlie Brown and the Peanuts gang as Pilgrims in the year 1620 sailing to the New World aboard the Mayflower and enduring the first hard winter on Plymouth Plantation.

My kids and I got a copy of the DVD in advance featuring both specials from our local library and enjoyed watching the classic together in preparation for the holiday 🙂

If you don’t want to wait for the special, you can watch it ahead of time by renting or buying it from Amazon Prime via the link below:

  1. Remember seeing that as a kid myself. Isn’t this the one where Snoopy and Charlie Brown was serving toast and popcorn, instead of the traditional dishes, or am I thinking something else?

  2. Charles Schulz created several classic and enduring special editions for television. I have seen nearly all of them, but another visit will take me back to times shared with my three daughters when they were growing up.
