“Victory (Where Would I Be)” by Oceans Music, Hannah Brazney, David Ryan Cook

I don’t know much about this group or church, but I really love this new song that released last month on October 16!

It starts strong with a reference to John 3:16 –

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

They haven’t posted any official lyrics, but this is what I’ve been able to put together for the song’s chorus and bridge:

Chorus:
Whose name has power that can save
It’s Jesus
Whose blood can wash my sins away
It’s Jesus
From the cross
To the ground
You reign forever
We declare: “Victory! Victory!”
In the Risen King

Bridge:
Where would I be
Without the Son
Without the blood
Where would I be
Without the Son
Without the blood
Where would I be
Without the Son
Without the blood
Of Jesus
The blood of Jesus

This worship team/group is from a church in Orange County in California, Oceans Church. This is what they reference for the music they create:

Oceans Music is the worship expression of Oceans Church. The songs of salvation are in the house of God, and we feel called to steward them with a reverence for the ancient truth and a prophetic passion for the new thing that God is doing.

Our music, message, and movement is founded upon this revelation—
“For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.” Habakkuk 2:14

Every move of God has a soundtrack. Welcome to ours.

I love it! I love the Scripture too! Too bad I don’t live in Southern California. LOL.

I love my church and our worship leaders who are also creating their own music as part of what God is doing in our church. Go check out Anna Childs and her new EP (on Spotify).

I love listening to worship music, and finding new music, new artists has always been something I have enjoyed no matter my age. I know some people only listen to their favorite music from their teenage or college years, which I too like to reminisce, but I like to find music to me that is fresh, new, and a new expression that I haven’t heard before or known.

God meets me in a powerful way during worship. Some times, I am just listening and letting the words wash over me. Other times I am screaming my guts out in worship. My intention is to give him an offering of my praise that He deserves. I feel like I can hear His voice more clearly when I am worshipping. I feel His presence and He fills me up.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
–MATTHEW 5:6 (CSB)

Worship is definitely the first place I go when I feel spiritually dry. It stirs my spirit and turns my heart to God. If you are singing words of praise to the Lord, it is hard to stay self-centered and in a “flesh mindset.”

I want to practice and live in a place where I am being led by the Holy Spirit all the time, instead of wandering after the things offered by this world, with my flesh leading me around. Really those are the only options. We can have the Lord leading us, or we can take the wheel and drive our lives around. I don’t know about you, but when it comes to my life, I am not the best “driver.” I much prefer when God is leading me.

I hope you enjoyed this new song I found. I also hope that you would look at your own life and ask yourself, “Who is leading my life?”
