my hands smell like onions
it is a comforting scent
i was making a beef stew
to share
last night
cutting up vegetables
cutting up a chuck roast
late into the night
to ready the meal
this morning
the stew cooks long and slow
all day
anticipation
of tonight’s fellowship
is this how God feels?
preparing the feast of the Lamb
awaiting His bride’s entry
into that great reception
His plans taking millenia
to come to fruition
His thoughts on us
every time He smelled the aroma
