this utter quiet
is my favorite feeling
the complete calm
you can feel the peaceful breathing
it is a secure quiet
the rest of children
living in safety
knowing they are loved
no fears haunt them
anxious for nothing

As a parent, I totally resonate with this poem! Reminds me of a Paul Simon, “Father and Daughter.”
