FORGIVE.
Forgive for yourself.
You don’t have to forget, but you can forgive.
Again (and again).

People can hurt you sometimes in this world. Sometimes people hurt you over and over and you don’t even realize it. Maybe it feels normal. Maybe you’ve gotten used to it. Some day, I hope you realize what is going on, get yourself out of that situation, and once you’ve found some healing, you forgive.

Forgiveness isn’t for the other person. It is for you.

The opposite of forgiveness is bitterness. Bitterness isn’t for the other person either.

Choose to live a life of forgiveness. That doesn’t mean going back to the same person who has hurt you. You should have healthy boundaries to stay away from those who have hurt you in the past. That is good. But after you are out of that situation, do yourself a favor and forgive.

In that way, you are FREE from that person’s hold on you.

Guess what, forgiveness usually isn’t a one time deal. When the past rears its ugly head, you will have to forgive again and again and again. As many times as it takes to feel freedom. As many times as it takes to feel like yourself again.

Who do you need to forgive today?
