Listening in on your kids conversations with other kids, especially new kids, that they are hoping will be new friends is funny.
It is funny when their context to know whether a new person will be a good friend is based on how many teeth they are missing. š
My oldest daughter has lost maybe 13 or 14 teeth thus far. It seems like she has another loose tooth every month. I almost cracked up laughing when introducing herself one of the first or second questions after getting her new friend’s name was, “Wait, how many teeth have you lost?”
After losing a new tooth it is the first thing she tells me, her mom, a grandparent or a friend, “Guess what!” and then she grins wide revealing a new hole in her smile!
Cute! It’s always interesting to see the strange things that are so important to kids.
