“We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves.”
-2 Corinthians 4:7 (NLT)
Don’t be deceived. All of your gifts are exactly that: gifts. Something bestowed on you from God. These are uniquely given to you from Him.
Our bodies are particularly fragile. This life is never guaranteed. The breath we have was breathed into us from God.
It is important to understand what we’ve been given. It is also helpful to see ourselves in the right perspective and our reliance on God to meet our needs.
I think this is especially necessary during the current ongoing global health crisis. It can be overwhelming and we might feel like our world is spinning out of control. It is a good time to recognize these feelings and then remind ourselves of how little control we really possess.
These realizations should return our hearts to a proper place. Where we see our need and respond to God’s heart reaching out to us, reminding us that He is in control and He cares for us and all of our needs.
“Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.”
-1 Peter 5:7 (NLT)
Wonderful post. These times have really taught us to live in the present because we really cannot control what may happen to us the very next day.
