I love this song! It is so inspiring! It is a reference to Jesus who joined Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego in the fiery furnace after they stood up to King Nebuchadnezzar and refused to bow to his gods and the golden statue he setup.

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered and said to the king, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter. 17If this be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king. 18But if not, be it known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up.”

Next thing you know, Nebuchadnezzar is furious and he is ready to throw them in the fiery furnace. He has the heat cranked up so high that the person who opens the door to put them in dies from the furnace’s blast of heat.

They get tossed in the furnace and there is a fourth person in the furnace by their side. They are removed from the furnace alive and their clothes don’t even smell like smoke!
