Don’t ask me that!
You have no right
I don’t need your consolation
I didn’t ask your opinion
If I needed some advice
You would be the last person
on earth
I would consult
These walls extend
Much higher than the roof
You’ve already burned that bridge
No bridge could ever again span this divide
I’ve accepted this reality
Forgiven and moved on
Never to return
This is how it is
What you wanted
I hope you enjoy the grass
On the other side of the fence

Wow. Such depth right here, Jason. Very well written, and filled with raw emotion.

I could have used your poem as a good bye letter for a person that needed leaving. Such passion and fortitude your words express. Thank you.

Ouch! That stings. I love it. That last line “I hope you enjoy the grass on the other side of the fence” is absolutely perfect. Funny how people will try to sneak back over the fence once they realized it wasn’t greener after all. Great poem, Jason.
