“Life is a journey; it is a climb; it is also and always a war.” – Amy Carmichael
I love this quote by Amy Carmichael, the Irish missionary to India, who spent 55 years in the field without taking a furlough. She started and ran an orphanage for rescued child sex slaves from Hindu temples.
She would know (more than most) this aspect of life being both a strenuous journey and a war. She faced much hardship during her long stint overseas caring for orphans. Parents who had sold their children into slavery opposed her work. There was a great evil that tried to destroy all of the things she fought for during her ministry.
You will always have push back and opposition from spiritual darkness when you are on the right track, doing the right thing. There isn’t a “neutral” position in the spiritual realm. What side are you on?

Man, this is so good–I love the quote, full of truth.

I have been following some of Carmichael’s writings. It is hard to imagine her spending her entire missionary career in India. Amazing!
