What I didn’t know
Had killed me
What I was unaware of
Was eating me from the inside
Only your needs were important
I wasn’t able to have a bad day
My emotions were hidden
Beneath lock and key
A shroud of shame
Hung above my head
Releasing myself from you
Unlocked my freedom

Damn, this really hit with what I am going through. Thank you for sharing. I feel a little less alone.
Yeah, it kind of stinks, but when you call it like it is, it helps you heal.
Jason, this poem is filled with a path of moving forward despite the trials.
Elegantly spoken, Jason!
Thanks Susi
