I used to be all bottled up
I used to keep it to myself
That ended poorly
Anger doesn’t go away
Kept inside
It builds up
Pressurized fury
Destructive force
I verbalized my anger
Everything I was angry about
All the things you did to me
I let them spill out
Weeping from the pain
I was a mess
But I let the anger go
It left me feeling relieved

What I have come to find out is that there are only two ways of releasing anger: verbal or behavioral. Additionally, through experience I have learned that you don’t want behaviorally express your anger.
Anger has to come out some way and sharing your feelings of anger, or what you are angry about with a trustworthy friend, who can listen and support you is probably your best option. Other options include talking with a counselor, or just talking out loud about your feelings of anger. I am sure there are countless other ways to verbalize your anger. I would urge you to take care of this, so that it doesn’t come out behaviorally in ways that you cannot control. The worst behavioral method of expressing anger is a Passive-Aggressive expression. Learn more about this here.

So true. Letting it come out in our behavior isn’t the best way. I’ve been guilty of being passive aggressive. It comes about when I feel trapped in a situation where it isn’t safe for me to express my anger verbally. I started using journaling to help get out as much as I could. It helped quite a bit.

Yes! Journaling is so helpful. I find that when I am able to speak it to myself out loud I can get most of it out. Tears usually follow, flushing out all the bad stuff. 😀

Beautiful😍I have anger problems sometimes I can’t help it and say hateful things which I later regret. The best solution is like you mentioned is to let it go

Thanks for sharing Nadine… so do I. I am working to speak out my anger when I am in control with someone I can trust rather than taking it out on a loved one.
