“I love you. I don’t want this
to be the end of our story.”
That was the last meaningful text
You sent me
You filed for divorce a month later
Sometimes you don’t get a chance
To write the ending of your story

Yeah, it’s been rough but also good if that makes sense. We were kidding ourselves about the state of our relationship and now we can both heal. It’s a long, hard process that we are both working through

Sorry, I don’t mean to make you sad… It’s the new reality but as Semisonic says, “Every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end.”

Jason – Wow! Powerful. Sad. Insightful. Personal. Great poem. I can’t imagine how hard this must have been to write and share. -Jill

Thanks Jill… thankfully I was a few months removed from the beginning of it… time does really help the healing process. Not surprising also is that writing really helps the healing too. Poems like this help me put things in perspective, reflect, and then let go.
