today feels like fall
overcast, gray skies
a chill in the air
damp smell from last night’s storm
the season is changing
hot, long days
shift to
cooler ones
green turns to red, yellow and orange
now is the time to harvest
the fruit heavy on the trees
expectant waiting
will be fulfilled
days of trials
surrender to
jubilant feasting
celebrating with family
gathered together
near and far
together as one
finally whole
