I have been listening to worship music almost exclusively for the past 4 weeks now. Most days in the car or while I am at work I listen to audiobooks. I love listening to fiction. But I have put that on pause for the time being. I have been listening to worship music because I find it helps me to hear the voice of the Lord more clearly and I want to be tuned into that more than anything else I am listening to.
One song that came out almost two years ago now, “Easy” by Elevation Worship featuring Jonsal Barrientes has been sticking out every time I hear it. Especially the final two lines in the chorus:
“What I call impossible is easy for you.”
I am believing for something big from God. Something I believe He has promised, but right now it looks impossible to me.
Do you know what? The impossible things are God’s specialty. They are the things that God does in our lives that no one would believe. They are things that we see and it makes us stop and think, “If He could do that, what other amazing things does He have in store for my life?”
It makes my faith spring up and my hope arise.
I have seen the miracles of God. I have seen cancer healed. I have seen financial situations solved in an instant. I have seen lives transformed by the work of God. So why not in this area?
What I found too was that, yes I believe God can do the impossible in this area, but I wasn’t praying for it. I wasn’t fervently seeking him to see it come to pass. I have to do my part. No, I don’t have to interfere and take control, but I do need to pray. Pray back to Him the promise that He gave me.
God, you’ve promised this, I pray your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
I need to be praying in every way and with a full heart that desires what I have been promised to come true in God’s timing, full of faith and confident in the God of the impossible. Believing every word that He has spoken is true and real. Believing that it is what He wants for me, what He has for me, and that He is faithful to me, even in this.
What are you believing? What are you waiting for that God has promised? Are you praying and asking God for it? If not, why not?
Be encouraged, our God is the God of the impossible.
