the morning after
earth is thriving
the damp grass
glistening green leaves
holding perfect droplets
the spring rain
revitalizes every dead place
life breaks through
touching the broken ground
soft and fertile
only promise remains

I’ve loved the beautiful weather we’ve had here in Western Pennsylvania recently, but we could sure use the revitalizing rain you reference in your poem. Love that final line – the perfect stopping place for the poem that ushers us into the yet-to-come!

Yes! We’ve gotten SO MUCH rain this year in Colorado. I’ve never seen it rain so often here in the over 20 years I’ve lived here.

My lawn loves it… but I would if I could.
