“I’m Glad My Mom Died” by Jennette McCurdy

I finally got a chance to read Jennette McCurdy’s new memoir, “I’m Glad My Mom Died,” and it is amazing!

Wow! This honest and heartbreaking memoir from the iCarly and spin-off Sam and Cat child TV star, Jennette McCurdy was so powerful and brave. Recounting her co-dependent and emotionally abusive relationship with her mother and the various coping mechanisms as a child, she is an inspiration to others struggling with similar challenges as a child or as an adult.

It is a very fast read. It contains dark humor about the difficult situations she faced. It doesn’t end there though and the inspiring part was her efforts to identify parts of her past and her relationships that were harmful to her and making meaningful steps at recovery and change.

This was a great read! I loved it!
