Hi Jason, this short poem really packs an emotional punch. Regarding divorce, it is definitely a shock to a person’s self-confidence. I think a large problem is the way society tends to frame divorce as if it is a “Failure.” Sometimes, divorcing and stepping away from an abusive or simply dysfunctional relationship is actually an act of kindness to your own mental health (and quite possibly the other person). I enjoyed reading your poem. Have a wonderful week.
