I have always loved the story of Gideon in Judges. An angel shows up and speaks identity into Gideon’s life. At first, Gideon is in complete disbelief. “Really??! Me?? My clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the lowliest in my family. Are you sure about this?”

Gideon goes from his initial doubts to the leader of Israel, a judge who brings Israel out of the hands of their enemies.

I personally have struggled with self-doubt and feelings of inadequacy. But when I do, I feel God speak to my heart, “I am with you, might warrior!” No matter how small or insignificant I feel, I have an all-powerful God who is with me and is on my side. Gideon was obedient to follow God, and God did the heavy lifting. He used Gideon’s humble spirit and willingness to say ‘yes’ to do amazing things for His people.

I was tinkering tonight and came up with this cool t-shirt design to remind myself when I am feeling down of my place as a son of the High King.
