the day was cold
even if the thermometer didn’t indicate it
overcast and dreary
wind blowing
low pressure clouds
a bitter chill
from the car to the door
a frigid scurrying inside
even within the cold persisted
an isolated den
pondering what omen
the weather foreshadows
