Perennial #Poetry #Journey #vss365

when the earth is feet deep in snow
it seems like there’s nothing in the ground
hidden
dormant
dead
but as the turf thaws
the insulating ice
drains down deep into the soil
giving way to
the perennial bursts of life
persistent through another long winter
