“I like to think grief is the price we pay for truly loving someone. And it’s worth every penny.”
Ted Lasso (AppleTV+)
I was a little late to the Ted Lasso party, but I really enjoy this show streaming on AppleTV+. The second season came out a few months ago and the “commitment” per episode is only about 25 minutes apiece.
The premise is a college football head coach from the US, becomes the new head coach of a premier European football (soccer) team in Great Britain. He brings a bit of Americana across the pond with small town earnestness and a positive attitude.
The show’s writing is exceptional and right now it is my new favorite comedy on any of the streaming services. There are regularly 1-month or longer deals going on with your phone provider (i.e. T-Mobile) and other promotions to be able to get the service free for a month or so to watch the entire series. It is well worth your time.
The quote above is just one of the reasons I thoroughly enjoy the writing on the show. It is so true be it the loss of a loved one, or maybe the ending of a relationship. Those losses can really hurt because of how much you truly loved the person who is gone.
