laughter is a barometer
of the state of your soul
when you can find something
to make you crack up laughing
until tears stream
down your face
overcome
by the salve of the soul
that healing property
that washes away
the hurt
the pain
the loss
the grief
the disappointment
you know that
the mending
is finally at hand
