Chandler Moore of Maverick City Music just released a new album in November 2020 called “Feelings.” The album is about the complex feelings we have that God created. Feelings are not bad and no one can tell you that they are invalid. While I wouldn’t make important decisions based solely on how I feel, feelings can be a helpful way of “checking in” with yourself and understanding how parts inside can be triggered or activated.

Maybe you are anxious about an upcoming deadline or the results for a medical test. Maybe you are having communication problems with a significant other. Maybe the uncertainty of a given situation has you feeling on edge.

Moore in his song, It’s Okay, says that it’s okay to not be okay. You don’t have to hide or stuff your feelings. It is best if you deal with your feelings and talk about them with a friend or journal about them. Bringing your feelings before God is another good way to “see” them from a new perspective so that you can move towards wholeness when things feel off.
