Simultaneously
I want to confront you
I never want to see you again
Indignation
Indifference
Seething anger boils beneath the surface
Pain and Loss and Past
Grief
Breathe in
Breathe out
the rage drains
…
Head to toe
Out and away
A pause
And then I continue on
Walking along the path
Towards the future
Towards the brave new world
Beyond

Oh, those cruel contradictions we feel. I liked the short lines in this piece because I think it adds to how quickly we can shift from one feeling to the other. Great work!
