layers of light
reveal the next
smattering of terrain
a silhouetted level
rising above
the earth
like waves
rolling ahead
towards the end

It caught various aspects of news media portrayals and the “new normal” of life during the health crisis. The collection covers some of the new technology that is being utilized as well as the rising fears of people as the uncertainty of the situation looms large.

“Looking Outside the Window” was a new poetry chapbook that materialized while working from home in self-quarantine during the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. I was in the middle of the NaPoWriMo challenge and found that much of my writing was revolving around the emerging health crisis here in the U.S. and around the world. The chapbook was meant to be an encouragement to those struggling with fear amidst crisis and the hope that someday soon things would improve.

“Looking Outside the Window” has also recently been added to a new collection of chapbooks published by Jason A. Muckley into a new full-length book of poetry titled, “Oceans of Unknown.”

“Oceans of Unknown” includes three previously published chapbooks, “Relentless Force,” “Looking Outside the Window,” and “Faith & Doubt” into a single, cohesive full-length collection of poems, while retaining distinctions for each book. “Oceans of Unknown” includes a new introduction to all three works as well as an index for quick access for quick reference to the location of a favorite.
