The Last Command_Timothy Zahn

Woo! I just finished both of Timothy Zahn’s Thrawn Star Wars trilogies. I also just read 100 books in 2020! I can’t wait for the first book of Zahn’s newest Thrawn trilogy that comes out in September 2020!

“The Last Command” is the final book of Zahn’s original Star Wars Thrawn trilogy, first published in 1994. I think it was the best Thrawn book Zahn has ever written! I loved his portrayal of the beloved Star Wars characters: Han Solo and Leia Organa Solo, Luke Skywalker, Lando Calrissian, and of course, the galaxy’s best droids, R2-D2 and C-3PO.

The final chapter in Zahn’s original Thrawn series had everything. From smugglers, to an evil Jedi Master to match the empire, and Grand Admiral Thrawn whose tactical manuevers seem to be flawless, this book was a thrilling, page-turner. I loved the galaxy Zahn created and even some of the new characters and species from new worlds that were dreamed up in Zahn’s tales.

If you are looking for a captivating new series, you love Star Wars, and the science fiction/fantasy genre, check out Timothy Zahn’s original Thrawn trilogy. Then check out his “Disney” Thrawn trilogy, which was also excellent. The best book in that series was the first one. I have read a couple other Star Wars books that were just okay compared to Zahn. Start here. You won’t be disappointed.
