Fun in the Sun Summer Poetry Challenge 2020 #FunInTheSun #Poetry #Challenge

A wonderful blog friend of mine, Brooke Cutler, is hosting a “Darling Blog of May” theme for her blog in May, posting new darling poems every day in May, and I think that’s fantastic!

I got to thinking about this brilliant idea she had, and I wanted to “borrow” her idea to come up with a theme for the summer that I could stick to, writing some poems on theme and maybe put together a collection at the end of it.

Now, her idea was to take the word “darling” and then use it in a new poem every day for the entire month of May.

My rules are going to be a bit more relaxed. I want to write a poem a day starting next Sunday, May 10 (Mother’s Day) and ending on Saturday, June 20, the first day of Summer. All in all, it amounts to 42 days of poems. The theme requirements are that the poem has something to do with being outside, enjoying the Summer’s warmth, or has to do with some fun activity, memory, or experience out in the sun.

You can follow my posts by searching the hashtag #FunInTheSun or the tag “Fun In The Sun” on my site.

I am excited to start this new endeavor and I hope you will follow along!

  2. Ooooo, this sounds so, so, so awesome!!!

Also, I’d like to take it a step even further: my idea would be to do one poem weekly starting from tomorrow, Friday May 22nd to Friday September 4th focused mainly on summer and summer-time activities and also expand on dreams, other fun related things, and other observations or stories to be told! Buahahha, I am excited. I’ll probably go off to make my own thumbnail for it now, too. 😀

Hooray, inspiration and ideas!!! ❤ ❤ Thanks!! 🙂 I'll make sure to link back to your post here. It's like a blog post-inception. XD
