I know I am a little late to this party. I don’t watch a lot of TV and none of the “late shows” even though I enjoy a good laugh. What I didn’t realize was that First Lady Michelle Obama was on James Corden’s “Late Late Show” to bring awareness to her cause to educate girls and women.
Studies have shown that countries who invest in the education of their girls and women see their gross domestic product (GDP), the primary metric used to measure a country’s economic output, consistently grow.
Besides singing on Corden’s Carpool Karaoke, the First Lady enlisted female superstars Kelly Clarkson, Chloe x Halle, Missy Elliott, Jadagrace, Lea Michelle, Janelle Monáe, Kelly Rowland and Zendaya to sing “This is For My Girls,” a song written by Diane Warren.
I loved that episode of Carpool Karaoke. I’m in Britain so we don’t get to see a whole lot of Michelle Obama, but she seems so fun and she has really great values. I have Becoming as an audiobook and I can’t wait to start it!
