Hi Poets and Writers!
Guess what today is (besides April Fool’s Day)?!
It is the first day of NaPoWriMo 2020! I am so excited. Most of my free time has been spent reading all kinds of books and I have about 6 digital books on my “borrowed” shelf on my Libby app.
But now that April has started, I need to re-focus some of my energy on some new works of poetry! I need to do some thinking, planning, and research to come up with some “themes” to write about this April.
Websites like Writer’s Digest poetry blog, “Poetic Asides” runs a daily poetry prompt featuring different themes and introducing new poetic forms. Blogger and poet, Robert Lee Brewer, is a helpful and talented poet and ally for poets to get their works published and help develop their craft.
What are your plans for this year’s NaPoWriMo? Do you participate in this annual pastime?

Every April poets and “non-poets” are encouraged to write a new poem everyday. Some people create chapbooks out of their collections at the end of the month.

I’m sticking to haiku and tanka–not doing the prompts…I sort of have a too-full plate of poetry writing this month 🙂
