I let the kids pick out some photographs
Memories they can retain
Pictures in their mind
Captured in their consciousness
The past they want to believe
Everything wasn’t all bad
Hopefully they will cling to some good

  1. Jason. Thanks for writing your blog – I particularly like the questions prompting us all toward our Next a Journey. I wanted to ask a few questions – as you’ve posted some great free/COVID recommendations of classics, I have also turned to classics with my family in this time! Beyond “they don’t eat into the profit of Amazon” do you think we all turn to classics in a time like this? And secondly, what poetry would you recommend (beyond your own two collections!)?

    • Good questions… I think something like the COVID-19 outbreak does make us look to the classics for some old, eternal wisdom. I think it helps to slow us down and reflect on our lives in a new light and the people around us that matter most. As far as poetry collections, anything by Maya Angelou, Robert Frost, W.B. Yeats. I have enjoyed the short and whimsical collections of Eric Keegan, an indie author and blogger I follow. He just came out with a new collection maybe 2 or 3 weeks ago.
