I feel so awkward
I am not comfortable talking to anyone
Hearing my words escape my lips
I lose my nerve
I’ve lost confidence in that part of me
When I go looking for it
It feels like walking into a pitch black room that goes on forever

Very powerful and relatable words. I struggle with socializing, too. You perfectly captured and illustrated how that feels. Great poem!
Thanks Haley! I really appreciate it

Great stuff. This is a really beautiful piece – short & sweet. I’ve been a writer for quite some time now but a total novice in poetry. I’d like to know what you think of this poem https://mayet8.wordpress.com/2020/04/18/shackled-2/
Beautifully penned. 👍
Oh, I love this, but I hope you haven’t suffered. I know how it feels.
Thanks Sarah
Short and sharp – I love it! Very modern in its approach to form, which has its merits even if I personally prefer writing or reading poems with more emphasis on their technical aspects.
Thanks! I am glad you liked it
That was touching poetry, we all feel vulnerable like that sometimes.
Thanks! That’s good to know
