“Dad is Fat” by Jim Gaffigan eBook on Sale on Amazon for $2.99 #Inspiration #DadIsFat

Dad is Fat

Funny family man, Jim Gaffigan, wrote a book. Yeah, it’s a little hard to believe. He has actually written a few books now (another about his obsession with food).

His debut memoir about the struggles about being a father and raising his five children  in a two-bedroom apartment in New York City with his wife and collaborator, Jeannie Gaffigan (who also wrote a book about having a pear-shaped brain tumor), is Dad is Fat is on sale for a limited time on Amazon for only $2.99 (regular price is $9.99)!

I read this probably five or six years ago when it was first published and it was one of my favorite nonfiction books at the time. My oldest was probably four years old when I read it and as a first-time parent every new experience was a first for me. Subsequent readings of Gaffigan’s hilarious adventures in parenting remind me over and over about the humorous parts of parenting, including laughing at yourself.

Here’s some more information about the book to help you decide if you want order it:

From new parents to empty nesters to Jim’s twenty-something fans, everyone will recognize their own families in these hilarious takes on everything from cousins (“celebrities for little kids”) to growing up in a big family (“I always assumed my father had six children so he could have a sufficient lawn crew”) to changing diapers in the middle of the night (“like The Hurt Locker but much more dangerous”) to bedtime (aka “Negotiating with Terrorists”).

Dad is Fat is sharply observed, explosively funny, and a cry for help from a man who has realized he and his wife are outnumbered in their own home.
