“Face to Face: The Art of Human Connection,” by Hollywood Producer Brian Grazer, co-founder of Imagine Entertainment, is a book about the power of face-to-face connection, looking someone in the eyes, having a meal, listening to someone’s story without an agenda or a readied response. The book is a follow-up of his bestselling book, “A Curious Mind: The Secret to a Bigger Life.”

He explains in his new book the “how” of his curiosity conversations that he participated in for years with everyone from Presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush to Eminem and Afghani rapper activist Sonita. These interactions he has cultivated have flourished because of his attention to body language and listening to non-verbal cues as he interacts with people.

Grazer discusses both his methods for creating meaningful interactions and short stories about various meetings he has had in the past. I found the book to fall short of the expectations created from his first book, “A Curious Mind,” but overall a helpful and insightful read to help my own communication skills at work and among friends.
