I drew this lion using a step-by-step tutorial while drawing and coloring with my kids.
He makes me think of Aslan from C.S. Lewis’ “Chronicles of Narnia.” It is a warm and comforting thought.
It is important for me to spend time with them when they are drawing, coloring, painting and engage in that with them. I believe it communicates that their creativity is important and it is important to me.
Because it is. Both statements are very true. I want them to know that.
I also want to communicate that even though I am their father, I am older than them, I don’t have all the answers, but I too am learning and growing.
Those activities, learning and growing, are lifelong processes that are important also.
He really does remind me of Aslan.
