Beautiful Oops

I loved this book! My kids did too πŸ˜‰

“Beautiful Oops!” by Barney Satlzberg is a book about mistakes. It is a book about tearing a page in a book, splashing some paint in the “wrong'” place, it is about a coffee stain on newspaper, and taking those mistakes and making them into “beautiful” mistakes. It is about taking a mess up and making something amazing.

What I loved about this book was it is a great way to both encourage kids’ creativity and to encourage mistakes. You can’t grow or learn or develop if you are too afraid to make mistakes. Parents should encourage mistakes because they show that your child is trying, if it is the first time they’ve tried an activity or its the hundredth time, making a mistake is not a bad thing. It is something to learn from.

Not only does this book have a wonderful message, it is full of pop-ups, crinkly textures, and other creative hands-on uses of paper and cardboard that engage the child’s mind and senses.

I wholeheartedly recommend this book!
