I did this hike yesterday after seeing some family up in Boulder. It was a short hike with minimal elevation gain, but there aren’t really any switchbacks on the hike, so it seems like you are going straight up the side of the mountain.
The nice thing about this hike is that there is minimal effort required and the views at the summit are amazing! There is a 360° view of the entire area that is breathtaking. There are two “seats” made out of the plentiful rock on the mountain to sit and soak in all the sights and sounds on the mountain.
I came at the right time because I sat at the summit for a good amount of time, yet I was not disturbed by any other hikers. I am not sure if it was because I went later in the day, or whether on a typical day it is just less busy than some of places that seem to be always crowded.
This hike was an inviting time of rest, peace and solitude to stop and just listen longer than usual.

It was beautiful… I try to find somewhere new to hike every week/weekend if possible. There is so many places to go and the sights are always amazing… I love living in Colorado

Yeah. I live in the Appalachian mountains. I like visiting the city, but I wouldn’t want to live there! I need nature!! I can’t blame you, I don’t think I could leave Colorado either!
