Like Father Like Daughter #Art

Tigerlily

I love my kids. I love how we share mutual interests and we like to do stuff together. Learning something new, teaching my kids something new, and teaching my kids what I know are all exciting parts of parenting.

A few days ago, I painted “The Masked Kitten.” When I asked my daughter what she wanted to do with “our time,” time I have with just her, she said she wanted to paint. I was delighted.

When I asked her what she wanted to paint, she wanted to make the cat I did before. It is so fun. So I told her that what I’ve learned and read was that the best way to paint something was to start with a sketch and use that as a guide later when you paint.

She looked at the painting and did a sketch. It was probably one of her best sketches that I have seen her do. She then picked out her own paints and made her painting. She added all kinds of fun colors, stripes, a mane, and other unique features to make her painting her own.

I am so proud of her.

This is one of the best parts of my life.

  1. You and your daughter created a special memory. Jason, making memories with our children fills our treasure chest with such richness. I value all of my memories with my three daughters as they were growing up.
