A friend once said, “You can’t get so hung up on where you’d rather be that you forget to make the most of where you are.” We got lost along the way. But we found each other. And we made a life. A beautiful life. Together. – Passengers

Life and love are unpredictable. Sometimes things don’t go how you hoped they would go. They don’t always go according to plan. Sometimes you find yourself somewhere you never expected.

Love is a great risk. You sacrifice part of your life for each other. There is a give and take. You are vulnerable. You are exposed. Sometimes you get hurt. There is pain.

Love can also be enriching and fulfilling. Love is never a guarantee, no matter how deeply you feel for that person.

I really like this quote above from the 2016 film, Passengers, about an interstellar spaceship headed to another planet with over 5,000 passengers on-board that is struck by a meteor causing a ship malfunction, and a mechanic, Jim Preston, played by Chris Pratt, is woken up from hypersleep, ninety years too early.

He finds himself all alone in an impossible situation with his dream of living a new life on another planet gone forever. The movie is the story of him making the most of his life in his unfortunate circumstances.

What kind of situation do you find yourself in?

What are the challenges that you face?

What will you make of them?

Will you let your life circumstances dictate what you are capable of and how you will live?

Or are you going to make a beautiful life despite your circumstances?
