New Wine #Hillsong #Worship

And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. If he does, the new wine will burst the skins and it will be spilled, and the skins will be destroyed. But new wine must be put into fresh wineskins. -Luke 5:37‭-‬38 (ESV)

There are different times and seasons in life when change comes. There are times of refinement in the Christian life.

God is good in that He doesn’t leave us where He found us. He wants to see us grow and be more and more sanctified. The refinement can feel a lot like crushing and pressure and trials that is uncomfortable and hard.

That’s where I find myself now. I have been going through some trying times but He stands right there with me. He doesn’t leave my side and He leads me by the hand.

So I yield to You
And to Your careful hand
When I trust You
I don’t need to understand

I love these lines. I yield to God and the work He is doing in me. I trust Him in the process even when I don’t understand.

The end result will produce new power, new freedom in my life. The net result is always more life and blessing. I look forward to this new chapter despite its challenges that I will walk through.

God is good. All the time.

New Wine by Hillsong Lyrics

In the crushing
In the pressing
You are making
New wine
In the soil
I now surrender
You are breaking
New ground

So I yield to You
And to Your careful hand
When I trust You
I don’t need to understand

Make me Your vessel
Make me an offering
Make me whatever You want me to be
I came here with nothing
But all You have given me
Jesus, bring new wine out of me

So make me Your vessel
Make me an offering
Make me whatever You want me to be
I came here with nothing
But all You have given me
Jesus, bring new wine out of me
Jesus, bring new wine out of me
Jesus, bring new wine out of me

‘Cause where there is new wine
There is new power
There is new freedom
And the kingdom is here
I lay down my old flames
To carry Your new fire today

It means we’re getting back on the altar
Let’s sing this to render everything, Lord
New wine out of me
Jesus, Jesus, bring new wine out of me
Jesus, Jesus, bring new wine out of me
Oh, Jesus, bring new wine out of me

  1. I’m an ex-Christian (ex-Catholic), but if “the Christian life” works for you, far be it from me to say that what I now believe is what you should believe. We all need to walk our own path.

    • To me the Christian life isn’t about a bunch of do’s and don’ts as much as it is about “knowing” God in each moment, walking with him through life’s ups and downs. Even through the hard times he has been right with me and it has made all the difference
