While it’s sometimes a tad stressful because of the paint and little kids who don’t always realize where the paint is spreading, I think this activity is one of my favorites to do with my oldest kids.
They love to paint. To use every color. To create something new. I love it too. I love to see what they will create and think up and imagine. It is always worth it. It teaches me to let go more and let them explore color and composition and things they don’t realize they are doing.
What do you think of their latest creations?
Mine is below.

Hi Jason,
Painting is a great way to connect with your kids. I used to put newspaper down on the floor and set up an easel and just let my son have a great time experimenting with all the different colors and possibilities of his imagination. Now, he is an adult and sometimes I wish we could go back to those carefree afternoons when he would simply paint and let his imagination go wild. Now, he is looking for work, instead. Enjoy these days with your children-time goes way too quickly.

Cool stuff. Wish my dad did that with me instead of teaching me how to sell produce. 😊

You are brave, lol! I was always terrified when I let my three girls get the paint out! But you’re right, it’s always worth it in the end. You guys did a beautiful job!
