Dark clouds loom above
Arctic gusts sting the landscape
Heavy snow descends
The sky’s weight an enclosure
Burying like mounting sand

Hi, Jason. Your Tanka sure nails the weather we’ve all had. I chose those words weeks, ago. Funny how that happens. 😀 I love this line: “…The sky’s weight an enclosure…”

I tend to really enjoy poetry about winter and snow. One of my quirks. But this one is especially interesting… comparing the snow to sand. Love it! -Jill
