Forgiving yourself is agreeing with God #Inspiration #Forgiveness

“When you forgive yourself, you are simply agreeing with God, and receiving his forgiveness.” -Neil T. Anderson

You can’t forgive others or even truly love others, if you can’t forgive yourself. You will hold others to the same unattainable standard you have for yourself unless you can forgive yourself.

This is not the way things were meant to be. Let go of your perfectionism and find your worth not in what you do or your “record,” instead find it in the divinity inside you, that you are a child of God.

  1. I’m not religious, but I agree that wallowing in self-recriminations over a mistake is a form of laziness. It keeps us from moving on and being productive. You have to forgive yourself so you can go forward and make new mistakes!

  2. Jason,
This is so very inspiring and absolutely true. God loves us and at the end of the day nothing can separate us from His love and forgiveness. I wrote this quote in my notebook so that I can look back at it just in case I need to be reminded of what I (and most of us) can forget at times, especially when the weight of this life bears down on us.
    Thank you for the inspiration.
