I don’t have to defend myself
It is my pride and ego
Telling me to make a statement
To make calls
To set the record straight
To them I say:
“No thank you.”
Their judgments against me
Have no power over me
My silence is my statement

Someone I know continuously told me silence is an answer too. Silence can fit convey many many things

“I spoke to you in cautious tones
You answered me with no pretense
And still I feel I said too much
My silence is my self defense”
