Something For Me #Ideas #Journey

I love writing poetry and if you’ve noticed, I have been pretty proficient at it lately.

Writing has been essential to me to process some difficult junk I’m going through. It has helped me to reflect and look at my life a bit detached.

What I am finding though, is that in this time it has been emotionally trying and draining to re-live what’s going on in every piece I write.

What I need right now is to find something for me that energizes me and refreshes me.

Does anybody have any ideas?

What do you do to get recharged?

About me: I am an introvert that is most comfortable being around people 1-on-1 or in small groups.

Here’s what I’ve come across so far in my hometown of Denver, CO:

  1. As funny as this may sound, join a bowling team of doubles or triples. Many introverts openly hide within such groups, I know because I’m one myself. Until you’ve actually got involved with it for a brief bit of time ( four- six weeks), you won’t discover the acceptance (no matter your skill level) by everyone and self satisfaction of socializing safely. In quick time you’ll graduate towards others more your comfort level that help you when you find yourself in more uncomfortable zones. Just me two cents worth…

  2. I’m an introvert too, Jason. I’ve also been ‘clearing the junk’ a lot more than usual. I’ve been doing yoga (on you tube) and also meditation (guided meditation, also on you tube, lol). I’ve also been walking in nature heaps. That’s been the big thing for me…it seems to be changing the way I see, and live in, the world. It’s kind of amazing! I highly recommend getting your walking shoes on! I wasn’t always a nature lover; I’m ashamed to say I never noticed it much. But now it seems to feed my soul, or something. Good luck with the new adventure. You’ve got this. ☺️

    • This was one of the items on my list! I have studied Spanish extensively in the past, dabbled badly in French… and Chinese. But now seems like a good time to refine those skills, either to study a new language I’ve never tried before or try to hone the skills I started in the past.
