The snow keeps falling
Another night
Flakes cover the ground
Again
A new layer hiding the last
Night’s snowfall
What had melted
Thawed under the surface
Is hard as rock
Immovable
Beneath a new load
The night is aglow
With new flakes falling
What seems like a harmless
Dusting
Forms another layer
Frozen
Above the hard, stony ground
Buried
