“Þetta reddast” is the national motto of Iceland.

What does it mean? Loosely it translates in English to: “Everything will work out just fine.”

Or in the words of the great reggae musician, Bobby McFerrin, “Don’t worry. Be happy.”

That’s my kind of motto… I’d like to adopt that for my normal day-to-day stress and busyness.

I feel like my next trip abroad should be to Iceland. I think it would be amazing! Fromh iking among active volcanoes to swimming in the ocean under the Nothern Lights (Aurora Borealis), Iceland looks almost like an imaginary land where gnomes and trolls are from. On such a small island, there looks to be endless opportunities to get lost in such a magical world.

Has anyone ever been? What did you think? Would you go back?

Let me know your thoughts below in the comments.

  1. Iceland never fails to surprise. A great motto and nice write around it. Thanks. A quibble, “Don’t Worry Be Happy” is by Bobby McFerrin and written in 1988, after Bob Marley was dead. Bob Marley did “Don’t Worry ‘Bout a Thing”
