It can be your daughter or son, it can be your grandchild, it could be a niece or nephew, find a young person today to share your favorite poem with today. It could be something you wrote, or something you have enjoyed reading from many years or even something you’ve just discovered!
Take the time today to share the magic of poetry with a child!
For inspiration, click on some of the child-appropriate poems I have scribed recently and shared right here on my blog:

Here’s the vision behind this initiative from one of its co-founders, Michael Rothenberg:
Dear Poets and Poetry Lovers,
Will you read a poem to a child on September 29 as part of the 100 Thousand Poets for Change Global initiative “Read A Poem To A Child?”
This seems to be an important year to highlight the significance of children in the world. We are increasingly aware of their fragility. It is time to take a moment in this busy, crazy life we live, and share something we cherish.
Poetry is our gift. If you will read a poem or poems to a child or children from September 24 – 29, please let us know your city name via the 100TPC communication hub.
