The Maverick opposed corporate bribes
Buying votes at the Capitol
Shot holes in the pork barrels
Of fellow representatives

The Maverick called to action
Military intervention in Kosovo
To put an end
To genocide

The Maverick’s greatest Act
Bipartisan Campaign Reform
Finally brought regulation
To political campaign financing
From unknown, unnamed sources

The Maverick was always
Ready for a fight
Standing up to brain cancer
Until the final round.
